From some of the first human creations made by hand to wedding rings, personalization has always been part of jewelry's history. Whether on an impulse or made for a special event, jewelry is associated with a personal feeling. Initially engraved by hand, nowadays computer-controlled (CNC) engraving machine for jewelry allows precise and above all, new engraving possibilities: text, logo, hand signature, fingerprint, photos, and many others.

Engraving is a unique way of marking your jewelry

The in-shop trend is offering engraving at the last moment so the customer can participate in the engraving experience at the store while they wait. Jewelry also finds a growing need online, as jewelers often display their creations on the Web with personalization possibilities. Online engraving is appreciated as the customer can try different fonts, photos, messages and preview their results.

Aesthetics and precision are the keys for jewelry engraving. Any ring, pendant or bracelet can be easily personalized and become unique. You can also engrave inside of rings to personalize them even more. Gravotech technologies can engrave on precious metals such as gold or silver or any alloy and any shape. “New” materials used for jewelry like wood or plastics are also easily engravable.

Diamond engraving can mark the jewel without removing any material (no chips, no dust), laser surface marking will vaporize only a tiny quantity. Thus, the personalized jewel does not lose any precious weight or value.

Which solution you should choose for the engraving jewelry application?

Laser engraving

To engrave delicate jewelry or to enhance contrast (dark or clear).

Galvo laser (CO2 laser) With galvanometric lasers, personalization is practically instant. It requires on average 5 seconds to carve a name but it can be pushed to just one second.

Công nghệ laser Fiber - WeLase Fiber 30 Watts will allow you to cut up to 1mm of material.

The wobbling cutting method increases the thermal radiation of the laser beam and improves its efficiency. As an example, for a 0.5mm thick brass, this method allows to decrease the time by 5 compared to a classical vector cutting.

The pin table allows you to raise the material during cutting and thus avoid deformation and colour degradation due to overheating of the material.

Rotary engraving

To complete the offer and make it even easier to use, you will benefit from numerous accessories dedicated specifically to jewelry (clamping jigs, rotary devices, regulating noses, fine conic cutters, and more) for impeccable jewelry engraving quality.

Our cutting table especially designed for the M20 ensures the material is held in place for stable and smooth cutting. Lubrication is also facilitated by the rising edges of the table to avoid dirtying the work area.

Improve the quality of your engravings while reducing tool deterioration by using a lubricant. Our Engraving Gel is a non-irritating, odorless lubricant that is easy to use and will not disturb your customers’ visit. Ideal for an in-store environment.

Engraving by rotary engraving machine

For traditional and fine engraving, rotary or diamond engraving is still appreciated for the most sophisticated of results. Gravotech has the advantage of mastering both technologies, so you can choose what kind of small jewelry engraving machine suits you the best: jewelry engraving machine, or jewelry laser engraver. If you need both, you can run the laser and rotary with the same software.
